Family of 5 ... on a lifetime farm adventure!
We are the Churches... Chuck, Ellie, Mady (14), Emma Kate (12), and Avery (9)
We left suburbia in 2019 in search of a rural paradise in which to raise our daughters!
What we found? Hard work, a whole lot of manure, and JOY!
Would we do it again? 1000% YES!
Our farm adventure began in 2019 when we purchased a 30 year old Cape Cod home on a very secluded 2 acres. The farm that wasn't really a farm was christened "Promise Farm" because Chuck had been promising me (Ellie) for years that someday we would have a farm! We were extremely over-zealous and immediately started putting up fences, buying chicken coops, building barns and shelters. We have tried our hand at raising nearly every homestead animal there ever was! And it's not an exaggeration! We have raised chickens for eggs and meat, raised our own beef, raised our own pork, we have had pet rabbits, sheep, pet goats, horses, miniature ponies, and even a mule!
We currently have downsized to focus on our favorite farm animals ... Nigerian Dwarf goats! We traded our pet goats for ADGA registered dairy goats in 2022, started showing our goats, and haven't looked back! Our goals are to breed quality animals for the show ring and the homestead, while never compromising confirmation. If our goats aren't getting nicer and closer to that goal every year, then we are failing! Our herd name "Rolling Thunder" is a nod to my late grandparents' country hilltop estate where many long days and warm summer nights were spent porch sittin' watching the storms roll in.
Our farm is also currently home to 2 Arabian horses, 3 Anatolian Shepherd Livestock Guardian Dogs, and a very sassy Bernedoodle puppy named Violet!
